FORMER president of the Tavistock branch of the Royal British Legion Peter Roberts was recently presented with the highest honour the legion can bestow on a member — life membership.
Chairman of the Tavistock branch Malcolm Christie said the award was in recognition for the outstanding work Peter had put in for the RBL, both for the branch and Devon county over many years.
He added that Peter, who had also served his country for many years in the Royal Navy, was an inspiration to all.
