THE history of St Michael's Church, Brentor, has been shrouded in myths and legends for centuries and this weekend people will be able to hear all about the 12th century church's history with a detailed talk.

The stories linked with the church range from St Michael battling with the devil on the top of Brentor, to powerful energy lines linking the church to other hilltop churches across the country.

This Saturday (November 20), art historian Dr Geri Parlby will be giving an illustrated lecture about the legends of Archangel Michael and the many hill top churches dedicated to him throughout the world.

The talk will be held at Brentor Village Hall at 7.30pm.

Entry to the event will be £6 with all proceeds going to the St Michael's Church restoration fund.
