Carlsberg South Western League Callington Town 2 St Austell 1 LEE Blatchford gave Town the lead on 18 minutes, having been set up by man-of-the-match Chris Gerry. On 40 minutes striker Andy Mitchell got on the scoresheet as he followed up Luke Avis Riordhan's strike that cannoned off the crossbar to give Town a two goal lead at the break. When Sam Davey slotted home from 8 yards on 72 minutes to give the Saints some hope, there were nervous moments. The final whistle brought celebrations for the home side as they moved back above Goonhavern but minds will soon turn to Saturday's tough away trip to Penryn Athletic in the South Western League Cup. Cornish Guardian East Cornwall Premier Legue St Stephen 1 Callington Town 1 CALLINGTON produced a mixed performance but still came away from a potentially difficult game deep in China Clay country with a point. Itt was a fairly even start for both sides when Wayne Mouselli converted a penalty after Seb Krotke was upended in the box. Krotke had an excellent chance to double Town's lead shortly after the restart but when clean through he managed to slice his shot and the home side began to come back and equalised mid way through the second half when Andy Dingle fired home to give both sides a share of the points. On Saturday the seconds have a re-arranged home game against Foxhole Stars.
