CHILDREN from Years 1 and 2 at Tavistock Community Primary School have been attending a French Club with a difference this year. Thanks go to Tavistock College Year 9 language leaders Amy Stephens, Jemima Dent and Alice Glanville, along with their teacher Sally Bartlett, and KS1 teacher Dawn Sherrell. The children had a great time learning French in a fun and creative way, and they have also been introduced to various aspects of French culture, a particular favourite being French food tasting. The culmination of the children's learning was a French Zoo Day at Tavistock College, organised by Amy, Alice and Jemima, where the children took part in lots of exciting activities, learning vocabulary and songs about zoo animals, following a very tasty French lunch. Tavistock Primary Headteacher Lynnette Selbie said 'This is a terrific collaboration between the college and our school, and we are very grateful to Amy, Jemima and Alice, and to Sally Bartlett, for giving up their time and making language learning such fun for our KS1 children.'
