RESIDENTS in the parishes of Coryton, Marystowe, Thrushelton, Lewtrenchard and Stowford are being offered a free two-hour first aid course.
As part of forward planning for an emergency situation, residents are being offered the course, targeted at rural and remote areas, enabling individuals in an emergency situation to provide basic life support until the emergency services arrive.
The training is supported by the Tesco Charity Trust in partnership with the British Red Cross.
The dates will be arranged as soon as 12 people come forward for each session which will be held in Lewdown.
If residents in the above parishes would like to participate contact: Colin Harris, emergency planning officer for Lewdown Grouped Parish Council on 01566 783336.
