FOLLOWING the submission of more than 90 diaries from people who live and work in the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty this June, the Tamar Valley AONB's Cordiale project team is delighted to present a community event this month, including readings and installations, created through the words of the valley residents.

Diarykeepers is a project about celebrating the present, marking the past and then looking forward to how people want the Valley to be in the coming years and the part they all play in shaping its future.

Organiser Anne-Marie Culhane said: 'It's been a fascinating process, hearing about the thoughts, ideas, daily lives, dreams and fears of Tamar Valley residents. We had participants from age four to age 80 taking part and it's surprising how much diversity, as well as how much common ground, there is.'

Anne-Marie Culhane and Ruth Ben-Tovim are working hard to create a free live event, which will take place on Sunday, October 14 at Roy Clarke's market garden, Hunter's Oak in St Dominick parish. Free parking is available at the Who'd Have Thought It pub, St Dominick, where transportation will be provided to the venue.

The event will feature material from the diaries, along with the resonant words of Joseph Snell, a St Dominick diary keeper almost 100 years ago.

The event will take place between 12.30pm and 4.30pm. Refreshments will be available.
