EMILY Attfield of Tavistock travelled to Swindon earlier this month, to compete in the Vale Tridents Anuual Duathlon at the County Ground.
The race consisted of a 1200m run followed by a 3.6km bike ride and finished with an 800m run.
Emily lead from the gun and by the first transition stage had established a useful lead which she consolidated on the cycle leg and final run leg to finish in first position in a time of 18 mins 2 seconds.
The following day it was on to Mallory Park in Leicestershire for the DB Max Junior Triathlon.
After a slow start in the 200m open water swim Emily moved through the field in the cycle and run stages in gruelling weather conditions including cold winds and hailstones to finish in an excellent 4th position.
Last Sunday, Emily took part in the Swindon Annual Junior Aquathlon at Dorcan Leisure Centre. This consisted of a 200m swim followed by a 2km run.
Emily had a good swim in a time of 2 mins 50 sec and exited the pool in first position. She held this position throughout the run section and even lapped her nearest rival to finish in a time of 14 mins 8 sec.
Emily trains with Tavistock Athletic Club and Tavistock Swimming Club.
