A TOP golfer from Tavistock is setting her sights on European glory, having narrowly missed out in qualifying last year. Laura Eastwood, who recently turned professional, will be trying to make the Ladies' European Tour through pre-qualifying school, but may gain a more direct route if she does well at a Swedish competition in May. The top two in this first event of the masters' tour will gain their European Tour card, which may be ambitious, but Laura hopes to come in the top ten. Last year she missed out on qualifying at tour school by three shots but hopes to do better this year as she had not played a proper game of golf for a long time before last year's event. Laura is currently undergoing three years of training for coaching qualifications and to enable her to run her own business and said she would like to try teaching golf if her professional career did not take off.
