Tavistock U12s . . . . . . 14  Ivybridge U12s 21 IVYBRIDGE started and Tavistock returned their kick off with interest as the forwards quickly moved the ball to Dan Dawes who drove through the defence to score. The first half was even as both defences were tested and held firm. The breakthrough came when Ivybridge were camped on the Tavistock line and as the ball was moved back to clear their lines,  a handling error was pounced on by the Ivbridge fly half who touched down to score. Despite the weather and conditions being perfect for open running rugby, the second half was a battle for possession in the loose. Both sides were 100% committed in the tackle, ruck and maul. Particularly to the fore for Tavistock were Aaron Dobie, Glen Fuller, Alex Boswell and Sebastian Engel and Dan Parr, who ensured that Ivybridge never had the upper hand. Ivybridge were awarded a penalty five metres out and charged over to take the lead. This led to a prolonged period of pressure from Tavistock which culminated in the try of the game from Dan Dawes, who took the ball from defence to attack and, supported by Finlay Ross, attacked down the narrow side. With only a few minutes remaining Tavistock thought they had a well earned draw but Ivybridge had other ideas as from the kick they pinpointed a gap in the defence to which they kicked, caught and ran in the winning try. Player of the match for Tavistock was Dan Dawes with special mention to Seb Engel who had an encouraging debut game.
