Plymouth Marjons B 6

Tavistock Mens Firsts 3

TAVISTOCK played their final friendly match before the league gets underway this Saturday, against a rejuvenated Marjons side who were relegated last season.

Tavistock began the brighter of the two sides and took the lead early on into the match with a fine strike from Cowen, following neat interplay from Daniells and Unwin.

Marjons quickly got back in the game and levelled from a slick reverse stick finish which goalkeeper Mingo was just unable to keep out. Marjons took the lead just before half time. this time from a well taken short corner.

At the start of the second half, the home side went further ahead following a breakaway goal as Tavistock pushed further forward.

At 3-1 down Tavistock finally found their stride and scored two goals in quick succession as Holland scored a fine individual goal and helped set up Cowen for his second to finish off a fine move which Bellard initiated from defence.

Having regained the momentum Tavistock will be disappointed to lose three goals and the game in the last ten minutes, the final goal controversially awarded despite an injury to rising Irish star Shine in the build up.

Tavistock are away to Dart this Saturday.
