TAVISTOCK College's Year 9 students followed in the footsteps of their Okehampton counterparts, when they engaged in a specially tailored performance of 'Last Orders'.
The performances are aimed at educating youngsters of 13 or 14 of the consequences of binge drinking, and were delivered to 270 students courtesy of the local Community Safety Partnership and the Solomon Theatre Company.
A theatre-style performance is followed by specially designed workshops which explore the themes of anti-social behaviour, teenage pregnancy and sexual health, as well as illegal purchase of alcohol.
It shows students how alcohol affects the way people think, their inhibitions, attitude to risk and ultimately their self-control.
Raising awareness and understanding of alcohol misuse is a key priority of the Community Safety Partnership.
West Devon Borough Council's community safety officer, Louisa Wall, said: 'The performances make the students aware of the dangers of alcohol, both in personal terms and the affect it can have on their community.'
The performance has been developed by a number of agencies, including the Police, NHS and the NSPCC, and is delivered in a hard-hitting style that captures its young audience.
The South Devon and Dartmoor Community Safety Partnership, which takes in the West Devon area, funded the events in both Tavistock and Okehampton Colleges.
