Bodmin Trophies Duchy League Division Two Callington 0 Lamerton 3 LAMERTON made heavy weather of their midweek league game against local rivals Callington. It was the home side who took the early initiative and created several chances to take the lead with Pete Daniel making a fine save from pointblank range to deny a Callington striker. The tension was eased somewhat when Paul Cowling broke down the left and crossed for Pete Broomfield to score. The lead was doubled five minutes into the second half when Cowling hooked the ball in from close range and Lamerton were able to relax somewhat. The final goal came when Lee Wickett knocked in a Zac Beesley cross. Bodmin Trophies Duchy League Division Two Lamerton 1 Dobwalls 1 THIS top of the table clash resulted in a draw which left Lamerton rueing the loss of two points. In terms of clearcut chances they should have easily won the game with three great opportunities missed before they went in front. The goal came when the impressive Paul Cowling put the ball across the face of the goal and Pete Broomfield hooked it in. A second Broomfield break was controversially disallowed for offside but still the chances kept coming with Carl Roberts in the Dobwalls goal getting something on the ball to thwart the home strikers. Dobwalls equalized with 15 minutes remaining when a Dan Ball freekick from outside the box went into the corner with Pete Daniel getting a hand to it. Broomfield, Lee Wickett and Steve Roast all went close but the winning goal wasn?t to come. It was overall an excellent performance from the home side with James Healy outstanding in centre midfield. Saturday: home to Newmoor in the league. Kick off 2.30 pm.
