PEOPLE living in West Devon have a last chance to get their name on the electoral register — and to be included in the first list of the new century.
Forms were sent to every household in September, which should have been returned to West Devon Borough Council some time ago.
Time is running out, as electoral register forms must be received by January 10 at the latest.
Tony Rose, borough executive committee officer, said: 'If you haven't yet returned your Form A, all is not lost — just take a moment to check the details on the pre-printed form, make any changes necessary, sign it and pop it in the post.'
The forms are pre-paid so it costs nothing to return them to the borough.
'If you've misplaced your form, telephone the council's electoral registration office on Tavistock 813600, extension 3664 and we'll provide you with a replacement form,' said Mr Rose.
He said people who fail to return electoral forms will not be able to vote in any election held until February 16, 2001.
'If your name is not included then you may encounter difficulties in obtaining any credit,' he added.
