MEMBERS of the public are being given their last chance to comment on maps which will eventually form the basis of additional public access land in the countryside.
Dartmoor National Park Authority members recently held a seminar to consider their response to the Countryside Agency?s Draft Maps of Registered Common Land and Open Country which will be finalised at a meeting tomorrow (Friday).
New rights of access for walkers will be introduced from these maps, perhaps as soon as 2005.
All individuals, communities and interest groups who wish to comment on the draft maps have until August 13 to make comments to the Countryside Agency.
Comment forms can be obtained from National Park and local authority offices or direct from the Countryside Agency by phoning the Access Helpline on 0845 100 3298.
