TAVISTOCK Lions Club will hold a car show on Bedford Square during carnival week 2004 for the last time.
The club has been given a final opportunity to hold this fundraising event because new parking regulations will soon prevent cars parking on Bedford Square except in special circumstances.
Tavistock Town Council has rescinded the licence to hold the annual car show on July 15 and 16 but members decided to let the event go ahead this year because the organisation was already underway.
The show, which has been going three years, makes between £800 and £1,000 for local charities.
The parking regulations will come into force before the carnival but special exemptions will be given to community groups and important events like blood doning sessions.
