LAMERTON took the lead in the first half when Jimmy Cole lobbed the home keeper after Steve Wickett hit the bar.
The second half began well for the visitors and Matt Wills increased the lead after good work by Wickett.
Play continued with Lamerton having the better of play but St Giles dangerous on the break.
Wickett broke clear of the home defence to score a deserved goal and his side's third.
St Giles came back strongly with two goals in the last quarter of an hour leaving the visitors relieved to hear the final whistle.
Positional changes gave the side a more organised and solid look with confident performances from stand-in keeper Tony Jones and Rob Tremblett, with Steve Wickett a constant threat up front.
