LAMERTON Parish Council bid farewell to its long-standing clerk at its most recent council meeting.
A presentation took place to Ann Cole by chairman Roger Geake and fellow councillors on her retirement as clerk to the council after 22 years of service.
Ann was born and has lived all her life in the parish and during her time as clerk has seen many changes in council work and worked with many councillors past and present.
She also has a wealth of knowledge on the village, its people and their lives and has written a book about Lamerton.
She was involved with the building of the new village hall, was secretary of the golden jubilee celebrations and raised a substantial amount of money for future events in the parish.
Ann said she will now have some ‘me’ time for relaxing, enjoying her garden and getting her wellies back on.
