Carlsberg South Western League Tavistock 1 Liskeard 2 THE Lambs welcomed local lad and former Torquay player Ben Camara alongside former Plymouth Argyle player Fergus Nevin into the starting line-up. Liskeard were the first to threaten as Gary Williams? second minute corner flashed right across the goal. But it was the Lambs who opened the scoring after ten minutes. Sean Cann flicked on a header from midfield to Camara who sent Mark Conday clear to round Simon Zinn and slot home. On 20 minutes they had a great chance to increase their lead when a mix-up in defence saw Conday latch onto the ball and go clear. He could have shot, but unselfishly laid the ball to an unmarked Camara who placed a side-foot shot the wrong side of the post with Zinn a mere spectator. It was a costly miss as within two minutes the Blues were back on level terms. From a second corner the ball was not cleared and in a scramble Dominic Richardson got the final touch to stab home. Conday went close again after he flicked the ball over a defender out wide and cut in but sent his shot into the side-netting. Lambs keeper Andy Meeds did well to acrobatically tip over a Lee Harvey header from a corner before the Blues got their second. A crossfield ball was not cut out to allow Sam Matthews to cross back in to the far post and when it came back across goal again there was Paul Baker to stab home from close range. The Lambs had chances to draw level before half-time with Alan Yendall sending Conday away, but Zinn came rushing out to block the shot with his feet. Yendall and James Steer then went close and appeals for a penalty were waived away when Camara appeared to go tumbling in the area from a tackle from behind. The Lambs looked more likely to score in the second half as both Camara and Steer went close in the opening minutes. Camara and Conday combined to see the latter?s shot go straight at the keeper and a minute later Conday turned his marker only to see his effort go wide of the post from close range. There was always the chance that the visitors would steal a third goal. Two more great chances slipped away from the Lambs as the game drew to a close with Cann thumping a header wide after Yendall had sent in the perfect cross on 78 minutes. And Matt Martin had his head in his hands after he blasted over from 18 yards with minutes remaining.
