Carlsberg South Western League Tavistock 2 St Blazey 7 THERE was always the fear that the Lambs would be on the end of a backlash from their visitors after they went down to a rare mid week defeat at the hands of Porthleven. Lambs keeper Andy Meeds blocked out a Dominic Richardson effort in the opening minutes but it was a push in the area on former Saints mid fielder Steve Daly for him to get up and send Gary Penhaligan the wrong way after 20 minutes. John Morris went close minutes later before he sent in a cross that Daly got in a glancing header to send the ball wide of Penhaligan on 33 minutes. Saints responded to this with an amazing turn around with four goals in the last seven minutes of the first half. The Lambs lost possession in midfield to allow Paul Madden to send in a shot that Meeds could only parry in to the path of Richardson to slot home unchallenged. Mark Vercesi then got to a free kick before defenders and Meeds to head home. Danny Bance followed up after the ball came off the crossbar with Richardson firing in a free kick on the stroke of half time to make it 4 -2 in their favour. It could have been more embarrassing as there was still time for Madden to send in a corner that was not cleared for Matt Parsons to fire over. The second half did not get any better as the Lambs found themselves further behind in the very first minute with Richardson firing home. On the hour it was Richardson again to get the Saints? 6th. Daly was again fouled in the area with 12 minutes remaining but this time his spot kick crashed against the upright for him to follow up and slot home. After some prompting from the visitors it appeared the Referee changed his mind after awarding the goal and the correct decision was made as Daly had played the ball twice without anyone else touching it. The Saints had the final say from close range to end a very miserable day for the Lambs and a remarkable turnaround for St Blazey.
