Graddon Vending Devon Premier Cup third round Friary Vaults 3 Tavistock 5 A GUTSY last ten minutes from the home side gave the scoreline a closer look than the course of the match actually took. Tavistock, two goals up from Mark Conday and Glynn Hobbs, inside the opening ten minutes, looked comfortable for most of the match. Hobbs, whom Friary just could not control, provided a superb solo effort to make it 3-0 on 36 minutes. And when Conday embarrassed home keeper James Gill by slamming a fourth into the roof of the net off the keeper?s toe, the game looked over as a contest. That was until the Tavistock management decided to give their squad a run-out and their players took their foot off the pedal. This was just the opportunity a skilful Friary side wanted and substitute Paul Ashton should have pulled a goal back when he hit a post. The home side had better luck seven minutes from time as substitute Wayne Mabin stole in to provide a cool finish, and when Dean Ogden drove home from ten yards the Carlsberg side appeared to be rocking. Unfortunately for Friary, the visitors struck back with Pete Floyd firing home before Ashton made amends for his earlier miss by completing the scoring, from eight yards, almost on the final whistle.
