CUP holders Tavistock took full advantage of being reinstated into the competition after the University of Plymouth played two ineligible players in the last round.

With no Carlsberg League fixture Steve Shaw, Graeme Kirkup, Darren Babb, Mark Wall and Steve Daymond came into the managers Pete Gibson Snr and Junior's line up.

Junior Gibson also featured and defender Richard Allen had to go between the posts after Chris Howells had broken a finger in training and Andy Meeds was unavailable.

The home side took the lead in the second minute when the Manadon keeper dropped a cross for Adam Brimacombe to side foot a volley into an open net. Allen then palmed away a high ball into the area and a minute later was stranded for the visitors to level on 25 minutes. Three minutes later wing back Richard Hoskin put the Lambs into the lead once more when he turned in James Yates low cross.

The Lambs increased their lead on the half hour with a sweeping move out of defence.

Allen's quick throw to Brimacombe saw the mid fielder supply Nick Monk but he miss kicked in front of goal for the ball to fall kindly for Gibson to stab home.

Daymond crashed a shot against the bar on 48 minutes before Manadon had their best spell of the game but could not penetrate a sound Lambs defence. Babb headed wide before the Lambs put the game beyond any doubt with two goals in a minute with 10 to go. A poor goal clearance was intercepted by Gibson to cross for Yates to challenge and the ball dropped for Monk to half volley the keeper.

Brimacombe again became provider to send Yates away to shoot low across the keeper. Monk rounded off a very good Lambs display when he converted an 86th minute penalty after the impressive Yates had been fouled as he raced in on goal. Match Day 50/50 draw winner £17 Pete Gibson senior.
