MODELS strutted their stuff down a catwalk for the South West Lakes Trust's fashion fundraiser recently. Eight volunteer models showed off a range of donated pre-loved and new women's clothing and accessories for the event, titled 'The Lakeside Collection'. Compere Evelyn Stacey, SWLT chief executive, brought the show to life with witty commentary. Model Diane Bassett, corporate services director, said: 'It was a fantastic opportunity to glam up, have a great time and raise much needed funds for our educational work.' Evelyn Stacey thanked the Tavistock Clay Pigeon Club and Veronica and John Thorneloe for donating prizes for the silent auction. Hair and beauty students from Launceston College also gave their services for free. She praised the team work between volunteers, some of whom had come from South Devon and employees at South West Lakes Trust, which had been instrumental in the success of the event. Donna Saunders, lakeside manager, said: 'We were overwhelmed with the generosity of people who donated high quality and many designer items for our sale. Our audience was thrilled with the wonderful bargains and we raised over £1,000!'
