SOUTH West Lakes Trust's conservation team is inviting people to attend a bioblitz event this month.

A bioblitz is an event where people work together to find as many species as possible within a set location and over a defined time period.

Everyone is welcome to the event on August 13 at the Arboretum at Burrator Reservoir. Participants should be equipped for the outdoors and a packed lunch is recommended.

Main events will start at 10am through until 4pm, experienced surveyors will lead survey sessions on mosses, flora, otters, reptiles, amphibians, butterflies, fungi and pond dipping.

An evening session on bats and moths will also be held for the more adventurous. The team hopes to record many species to add to the Arboretum's list.
