A SYNDICATE match at the carp lake in Halwill Junction saw one man catch more fish in a day than all the matches the previous year put together. Zyg Gregorek from Halwill Junction, near Winsford, recently took part in the competition at the main Carp lake at Anglers? Paradise. The biggest he caught were three carps at 18lbs plus, the rest were a sprinkling of doubles and high singles. He caught more than 150lbs in total from the carp lake thanks to split cane rods and 8lb mainline and worms as the bait. Mr Gregorek said: ?I attribute this success to my beloved mother who recently passed away, and was smiling down on me from up above.?
