Another hot Sunday and as the road race season gathers momentum last weeks run saw members of BAT's (Bere Alston Trekkers) taking part in the annual 10km race hosted by Bideford Athletics. The Bideford 10K is a popular run between Bideford and Instow, returning alongside the River Torridge on the Tarka Trail. There are few hills on this run making for a fast finish for all those taking part. First Bat home was Dotty Allan who was eighth lady in age group.  Mary Sargeant was next and was first lady in her age group. Making their Bideford debut were Jane Page and Bridget Macdonald both of whom ran excellent times with Jane taking over eight minutes off her last 10k.  It was well done to Sue Catto who was running her first race of the year.  Next week will see the Bats running the Plymouth Half Marathon.
