Plainmoor Ladies 1
Tavistock Ladies 0
TAVISTOCK deserved to come away from this match with at least a point. The game started with Plainmoor challenging and pushing hard for every ball. Hard challenges soon took their toll as Katie Glasspoole suffered an injury but bravely played on till half time.
Sarah Blowey and Donna Weeks up front rode some hard challenges to get their shots off but the Plainmoor keeper was outstanding. Donna Hone and Kirsty Jones on the wings sliced through the midfield and Tavistock played some great passing football but were closed down at the final touch.
Ali Hurley was good in the air while Rachel kelly worked tirelessly in midfield. A scrappy goal mouth scramble saw Plainmoor score early in the first half.
The second half saw a reshuffle with Hone joining Hammond, Turner and Webber at the back playing well together and Plainmoor never looked dangerous, apart from one fine save from keeper Della Maloney. Blowey charged the defence and slotted the ball across goal but Rebecca Gordon and Weeks couldn't get the final touch. Nicky Crocker fought hard and Tavistock tried everything to get the equaliser but eventually time ran out.
