ONE month into the bowling season and though Yelverton Bowling Club has not had many wins everyone seems to be enjoying being outdoors.

The men have played in three county trophy matches and unfortunately lost every one. The ladies played five friendly matches and only report one win.

At the return matches they intend making amends, especially when they play against Tavistock Ladies.

The mixed friendlies have been more successful, winning four and losing one.

The final of the ladies' pairs competition carried forward from last season was played on Monday, May 14. It was a close match with Joyce Neno and Joan Smith beating Heather Lock and Sheila Shipton.

New members are welcome with coaching available if needed. Bring a pair of flat soled shoes, if possible. The club has a beautiful setting with ample free parking.
