Tavistock Ladies 1st XI 12 Paignton 2nd XI 1 THE game opened with Tavistock dominating play from the start and the opposition being constantly bombarded in the attacking ?D?. Robynne Honey scored the first goal of the match from a good cross in from Louise Bott. It was Lisa Butler who scored the second goal from a huge sweeping action at the keeper. Tavistock were awarded numerous short corners and Laura Armstrong scored the third goal from a rebound off the keeper. Julia Firth and Judy Miller were battling well and were determined to keep possession of the ball. Firth scored the fourth goal from a direct shot at close range The opposition scored from a weakly defended short corner but Tavistock were quick to fight back and regain possession of the ball and Armstrong scored the fifth goal. Firth scored the next two goals before half-time of which one was a one on one situation with the keeper. Tavistock were still hungry for more goals in the second half. Armstrong was creating some good links between the midfield and forwards and Honey scored the eighth goal from a lovely strike from a short corner. Moments later Butler scored again from a great sweep past the keeper. The opposition were bravely trying to find new ways past Tavistock but there were no gaps. Sarah Barratt had a run up the pitch and took the ball into the ?D? and struck it with power to score the tenth goal. Honey scored her hat trick of the match and Barratt finished the match off scoring the 12th goal. This was a brilliant start to the season as this was the first league match.
