Tavistock Ladies 1st XI 2 Plymouth & Marjons 2 5 WITH only one point separating the two teams in the league, Tavistock knew that this match was going to be tough. Goalkeeper, Bex Creasy, made some excellent saves but there were one too many players unmarked and they were able to slot in an early goal. Judy Miller was trying to find space in the ?D? but the defence were marking her up tight. Boulle released the ball to Honey who linked with Gaspar and the ball was sent in the ?D? to Laura Armstrong who took a reverse stick strike at the keeper, levelling the score to 1-1. A short corner was awarded to Plymouth and they scored despite the two teams assuming the ball was kicked into the goal. At half-time the score was 2-1. Tavistock were outnumbered defensively and Plymouth scored again taking it to 3-1. Minutes later they scored again. Plymouth could have scored more but for the strong play of Creasy. Tavistock kept on battling and Barratt and Boulle linked well together. A short corner was awarded to Tavistock from which Stapleton took a strong strike. The ball was deflected back to her and a good call from Boulle allowed Boulle to score for 4-2. With eight minutes left Tavistock tried to drive the ball up the pitch but the opposition scored again, taking the final score to 5-2.
