A HARD fought encounter saw the visitors emerging with the only goal of the game, scored late in the first half, when Anthony Baugh headed in a rebound from the crossbar.
Earlier in the half there were few chances. Steve Wickett shot just wide while Adrian Parsons also missed the target from close range.
Lamerton were below par in the first half, but raised their game and dominated the second half territorially.
Chances came and were missed, the closest being when Wickett hit the woodwork.
Tony Jones, Jimmy Cole and Will Cann also came close, but the visitors' defence remained solid and the handling of the keeper was excellent.
There were good performances by Richard Downing and Lee Rowe in the home defence, but overall Lamerton ignored their passing game too much.
