Westward Development League Tavistock Ladies 2 Torridgeside Ladies 4 TAVISTOCK ladies played their last game in the league on Sunday, away, against Torridgeside Ladies, whom they had previously won against in both the league and the cup. Despite an excellent game of football, luck was not on their side. Torridgside scored early on but Tavistock striker Nicky Crocker soon equalised from a good cross by Aisha Clarke on the right wing. However, Torridgeside came back with another goal, despite excellent efforts of Rachel Kelly filling in for Tavistock's regular keeper Zoe Stock. Due to the absent keeper, some positions had been changed around and usual striker, Cara Grant, was playing in midfield, where Rachel normally plays. This worked well when a good free kick was taken by centre back Tina Parker straight through the Torridgeside defence - Cara sprinted onto it to make a strike and goal into the left corner of the net to make it 2-2 at half time. More changes were made in the second half. Left back Robin Huddlestone, who played very well, came off and goalie Zoe Stock came on. Beth Weymouth made a real difference in right midfield when she came on and left winger Donna Weller was Tavistock's player of the match with her tremendous effort thoughout the game. Tavistock kept Torridgeside out of their half for about 20 minutes, but a lucky break gave them one goal, and a rebound from a corner put them two goals ahead. Tavistock tried their best to score but in the weather conditions and hailstorm it wasn't to be their day. Tavistock finish fourth in the league, only a point behind third place Okehampton.
