FARMERS and land managers in West Devon are invited to attend workshops that will be providing information on different boundary management techniques and the funding options available for this work.

Experienced advisers will be on hand at the workshops at Hatherleigh and Newton Abbot to outline the wide variety of different farm boundaries and the most appropriate management methods available such as traditional hedge laying.

They will answer individual queries and offer guidance to help farmers in Environmental Stewardship agreements ensure they meet the RPA inspection criteria.

Helen Merchant, Natural England project manager for Farm Advice said: 'The events will be a great opportunity for those currently in an Entry Level Stewardship agreement and we aim to provide farmers with the skills and knowledge to manage their existing ELS boundary options.

'We are particularly keen to influence the selection of options of those who will be shortly renewing their agreements in order to maximise the benefits to wildlife habitat within the farm environment.'

The sessions start with registration at 1pm and will finish by 4.30pm.

Attendees are advised to wear suitable clothing and footwear.

Refreshments will be provided. To book a place on a workshop call 0780 190 2782 or email [email protected]">[email protected]
