Devon and Exeter senior three Beacon Knights 1 South Zeal Utd 0 For the second away game on the trot Zeal played well enough to get at least a point but returned home empty handed. After withstanding an early onslaught from the home side Zeal started to look dangerous themselves with both Harley Cann and Darren Gilbert breaking down the wings and providing good crosses into the penalty area, the home side were starting to look vunerable. Zeal could have taken the lead on the half hour when Julian Eavis received a good pass from Lee Gilbert and put Harley Cann through on goal but Harley?s shot although beating the keeper just cleared the bar. Zeal probably had the majority of the play in the second half but apart from a Scott Hooper effort that went just the wrong side of the post chances were few and far between. With five minutes left it looked as if a draw would suit both teams until a shot from the edge of the penalty area was well saved by Adam Cann in the Zeal goal but the ball dropped nicely for a home forward to finish from close range. Zeal pushed on to try and get the equaliser but Beacon held on to grab all three points. l Next week South Zeal Utd are away to Morchard Bishop, kick-off 2.15pm.
