A NUMBER of people lost their hair at a charity evening of head-shaving and waxing recently.

The charity head shave, to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA), was held at the White Hart Inn at Bridestowe, and saw West Devon residents Steve Sturman and his two sons, Jordan and Connor, go for the chop, along with barmaid at the White Hart Tracey Mitchell and Jo Williams whose husband was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease earlier this year.

Funds raised on the night totalled £504, and students from Butler Court at Loughborough University joined in the fundraising by taking part in Movember — growing a sponsored moustache throughout November — and body waxing, which raised £530 for MNDA.

Jo Williams expressed thanks to Dave and Ann Morgans, of the White Hart Inn, for hosting the charity night, the Burrator Inn, Lisa from Taylor's Restaurant in Tavistock, Val and Neil from Tavistock Conservative Club, Sarah and Graham from Sweet Sensations, Sue and John from Bridestowe, John Burbage and Naomi and Richard from Bridestowe Post Office for all the generous donations and raffle prizes.

Jo also expressed thanks to her daughter Laura and Son Marc (Hammy) and their university friends Steve, Rachel, Tracey, Connor, Jordan and everyone else who attended and supported the event.
