Kelly College 1st XI 6 Liskeard 1st XI 0 WITHIN the first 15 minutes Kelly managed to maintain the majority of play in their attacking half, despite a threatening break from Liskeard. Claire Bruna took a strike at goal from the top of the D, scoring the opening goal. This was followed by Claire Mason scoring from a short corner. Chloe Bassett passed to Kate Eadie and on to Charlie Hoffman, with Mason ready to secure the goal. For the second half, Anna Balm and Gabriella Murphy came on, with Kelly looking more threatening. A goal was quickly conceded by Liskeard as Mason placed the ball under the goalie from open play. This was followed by another goal from Bruna. There was better linking from Kelly in the second half. Balm, excellently placed and unmarked in the right channel, drove into the D and towards the goal before having an amazing successful strike at goal. The final goal by Kelly came again from Mason, who maximised Bassett?s run through to Gabriella Murphy, who then had a strike, with Mason picking up the rebound and placing it neatly in the goal. Bruna was awarded player of the match. Charlie Hoffman initiated Kelly?s first goal, as she found Anna Balm at right midfield. This was followed by a neat pass to Georgie Killingbeck in right attack and Claire Mason sat waiting perfectly positioned. Georgie Killingbeck and Mason teamed up to create the second goal. Anna Balm played her best game of the season, clearing the way for longer passes direct to Killingbeck from Kelly?s defence. Bruna also had one of her best games of the season, continually posing a threat to their defence in attack. She scored Kelly?s third goal. Kelly?s fourth came from Killingbeck. This time it was a great attacking move by Hoffman which was perfectly executed by Killingbeck to seal the match. In the last few minutes, Wellsway won a short corner and managed to score. Kelly College 1ST XI 2 Plymouth College 1st XI 0 KELLY were keen to finish the day playing as well as they had done in the first game. A goal from a new short corner routine was executed well early in the match by Kate Eadie and Claire Mason. Kelly?s reliable defence of Jenny Briant, Fran Murphy, Jenny Pollock and Louisa Frost meant the midfield were continually delivered good quality passes to transfer to the attack. Georgie Killingbeck played well as did Claire Bruna. Kelly won the day by sealing the second and final goal of the match. Player of the match: Georgie Killingbeck. As Plymouth College drew with Wellsway College in the third game, Kelly were the winners of the tournament. The prizegiving followed the final game in which 1st XI captain Jenny Briant thanked Fiona Dunn for organising the tournament and the coaches and umpires for their contribution.
