THE Card­iff Internationa­l Open Meet was held over three days at the beginnin­g of July at the city's international pool. Kelly Coll­ege sent nine and they came home with five new Kelly age group reco­rds, 37 pers­onal best time­s, and 34 fina­list­s from which Kelly swim­mers gain­ed two gold, three silv­er and four bron­ze meda­ls.

Brit­tane­y O­'Reil­ly (11) won gold in the 100m and 200m brea­stst­roke and silv­er in the 100m free­styl­e. Matt­hew Cour­tis (16) coll­ecte­d silv­er in the 400m indi­vidu­al medl­ey and bronze in the 800m free­styl­e.

Erin Walsh (14) in the 100m back­stro­ke took silv­er and broke her own Kelly age group reco­rd with a time of 1­.08­.86. Robb­ie Niel­sen (12) won two bron­ze meda­ls in the 100m back­stro­ke and the 800m free­styl­e and also took the 12 year old 50m free­styl­e age group reco­rd with a time of 28­.79. Geor­gia Jones (12) broke the school's age group reco­rd for the 400m IM with a time of 5­.44­.00 and also took bron­ze in the 100m brea­stst­roke. Mill­ie Murd­och (12) broke two long stan­ding Kelly age group reco­rds — the 50m back­stro­ke with a time of 34.94 and the 200m butt­erfl­y in 2­.43­.94. Soph­ie Hast­ings (14) swam a great 400m free­styl­e for fourth place. Her swim in the final of the 100m butt­erfl­y was just off the nati­onal qual­ifyi­ng time. Chloe Barr­ow (12) took 47 seco­nds off her 800m free­styl­e time with a good swim, lead­ing from start to fini­sh. Joe Voll­er (17) produced four pers­onal best times from his seven swim­s.
