OKEHAMPTON Ladies have lately made a habit of letting the opposition score a handful of goals in the first 20 minutes — this happened again during the match against Brixham.
Okehampton allowed Brixham to score three times, one a penalty, before Kelly Cooper pulled one back just before half-time.
Despite having made life difficult for themselves, Okehampton turned it on in the second half, Cooper scored again and the opponents became flustered. Okehampton applied more pressure but it was Brixham who scored first to make it 4-2.
The manager brought on some fresh legs and this helped Okehampton to close the gap again when Lisa White found the back of the net to bring the score to 4-3.
Brixham, with no substitutions, seemed to tire and Okehampton took advantage of this with Lisa White scoring again to make it 4-4.
Although slow to warm up, Okehampton deserved this result and played well as a team once they woke up.
