KALEB’S Thumbprint, a family fundraising group, held a collection in North Tawton at the weekend which raised more than £150 for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
The group held a bucket collection at North Tawton Clock Tower from 10am until 1pm on Saturday, April 8.
In total the group raised £154.74, which has been donated to CHSW.
Kaleb’s Thumbprint was founded last year when local man Luke Compton sadly lost his 18-month-old son Kaleb because of a life-limiting condition.
After Kaleb passed away, Luke and his family made it their mission to raise funds for CHSW – the charity that supported them through an incredibly heartbreaking time.
Luke’s sister Evie Compton said: ‘We managed to raise £154.74 at the collection. We are so grateful to all the people who donated.
‘North Tawton is a small town but we managed to raise a lot of money in a short space of time because of the wonderful community here who always support us.
‘People who were even just passing in the car pulled in further up the road to get out of the car and give us a donation!
‘We would like to thank everyone for their generosity.’
All the money collected has been donated to CHSW — a charity which cares for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
The care they offer is wide ranging: they provide respite and short breaks, emergency care, and palliative care as well as end of life care.
