SOURTON Parish Hall is the venue for a special Valentine's dance on Saturday, February 10, starting at 8pm. Not only will participants enjoy a good time with musical entertainment but they will also be helping to raise funds for the parish hall and Rapid UK, the search and rescue charity that provides assistance at major international disasters. Geraldine Jury, the South West fundraiser for Rapid UK and chairman of the parish hall, said: 'The band is Just Us from Bideford, who were well known as Atlantic Highway but sadly their vocalist passed away and now they have changed their name to Just Us. 'Their music is fantastic with music and dancing for all ages. So come along and have a good time.' A bar is being provided by the Fox and Hounds pub and there is a raffle. Rapid UK is a charity with its head office in Okehampton and is supported solely by donations from the public. Its members are all volunteers. The charity operates in the UK and abroad in the search and rescue of casualties following major disasters and training local teams in areas prone to natural disaster.
