TAVISTOCK Juniors? golf section recently enjoyed their Christmas competition and meal. The day also saw the climax of the David Stewart Order of Merit competition with the final points up for grabs. James Hulbert, who has had an amazing season, had already secured first place by amassing an incredible 84 points, but four players were still in contention at the start of the day. Both Luke Wakley and Chris Gawman managed to gain points on the day to share the second prize with 52 points. Joe Trembath was victorious in the Christmas stableford competition with 45 points, runner up was Mathew Ash with 42 points and Chris Gawman secured third spot with 41 points. Several Tavistock Juniors have had an outstanding season and they were delighted that both Adam Waddle and Luke Wakley have been selected for Devon County coaching during 2005. Micah Carroll, also of Launceston Golf Club, is currently the lowest handicap girl player in Cornwall and she will also represent her county during 2005. A special achievement award was also presented to Adam Waddle in recognition of being selected for two county friendly matches and for his support to Sue and Phil Gawman, junior organisers, during 2004.
