TAVISTOCK took the kick off and immediately drove forward deep into Exeter territory. The driving power of the forwards, particularly from Steven and Cameron, prevented Exeter from advancing beyond their 22 metre line. A desperate clearance kick was skillfully picked up by Ethan in the middle of the pitch who curved round the Exeter defence to open the scoring in the left hand corner.
Tavistock continued to dominate up front with the front row of Rory, Richard and Chris controlling all the set piece scrums. The forwards then won an Exeter lineout and the ball went through the hands of the back division before Ben G surged through from full back to put wing Will G over in the corner for Tavistock's second try. The home team then consolidated their position just before half time when Theo picked up from the base of a scrum and the forwards drove over to secure a 15-0 lead at the interval.
Exeter came out as a changed team in the second half and were camped near the Tavistock line for 10 minutes but dogged resistance kept them at bay. A fly-hack relieved the pressure and set up a fantastic chasing move which resulted in Ben M looping around the Exeter full back before putting Will G away for the home team's fourth try.
A quick tap penalty enabled George to set up Ethan on a 50 metre run. The ball then went through the hands of Bernie to Ben M who was pushed into touch just short of the opposition line. James , with a well-timed leap, stole the lineout and smuggled the ball to Callum who went over to score and seal the match.
