North Okes U14s 41
Tavistock U14s 5
North Okes settled into the game and confidence grew after Liam Michael powered over for the first of three tries, converted by Jack Davey.
All the forwards worked hard and by doing their job around the park it allowed Dan Fogerty the chance to slice through and make ground up the centre but Tavistock's tackling stopped him just short of the line.
Tavistock continued to tackle well but North Okes offload was causing all the problem and at half time the score was 31-0.
After the break North Okes made some changes which disrupted their game and Tavistock spun the ball out and scored. Declan Coyle came off his wing to receive a ball at pace which was recycled out to Lewis Taylor who popped under the post.
Tavistock U13s 63
Devonport Services U13s 0
TAVISTOCK got off to a flying start against Devonport Services with the powerful combination of Braidy Workman and Charlie Fethney running in an early try, converted by Matthew Smith. Oliver followed up with another try shortly afterwards, and excellent tackling by the Services team could not stop Tavistock running in five more tries in the first half. Great handling and effective rucking by the Tavistock boys left the Devonport team with very little possession.
While the home side were unlucky not to score in the last few minutes of the game, Tavistock made it over the try line four more times in the second half. Devonport showed great spirit and kept going right to the end of a difficult game.
Tavistock U12s 38
Launceston U12s 7
TAVISTOCK U12s returned to their winning ways after a four week enforced break, due to the cold weather, with this win over Launceston. There was only one score in the first half which comprised one of the most competitive and entertaining periods of rugby seen at this level for some time. Both sets of forwards forcefully rucked and counter-rucked, the backs ran some great moves and there was strong defensive tackling by both sides. The only try in the first period coming from Callum to give Tavistock a 7-0 lead at the interval.
Tavistock started the second half with a powerful run up the middle from Stephen and from the ensuing maul George darted round to score. Launceston responded immediately by stealing a Tavistock lineout and passed the ball across their backline for their wing to score in the opposite corner.
The Tavistock forwards, Chris, Harry and Will G, then started to dominate and provided great ball to the backs. Penetrating midfield runs from Laurence, Ethan, Ben and Alex opened up the game and created the space to enable Will P, Bernie and Callum to score further tries and give Tavistock a well earned victory.
Okehampton U11s 56
South Molton U11s 0
AFTER their weather induced recent sabbatical, Okehanpton continued their winning run with this emphatic victory against their North Devon visitors. They scored four tries in each half and showed few signs of rustiness in the cold conditions. The first half tries were shared between Adam Wonnacott, Greg Daniel, Corey Holliday and Ethan Hoggins. Supplementing the tries were successful conversions struck by Corey Holliday (3) and Jack Ogbourne.
Playing down the slope in the second half, Oke continued to dominate in all aspects and further five pointers were collected by Ollie Ardon, Leon Horne and Greg Daniel (2). All were converted by Kieran Coyle, Jack Ogbourne, Adam Wonnacott and Angus Cunningham with one kick apiece.

Tavistock U10s 10
THE home team got off to a steady start with James McCulloch, going in low to score an early try. This set the tone for the first half with Okehampton continuing to push hard against a well drilled Tavistock. Dai Chi Budiman put in one super tackle after another to stop Tavistock from gaining ground and Will Risdon's passing mid field allowed Okehampton to break away on several occasions. However, it was not until Daniel Turney picked up a loose ball and sprinted down the right wing, that Oke were able to get on the scorecard again.
In the second half, all of the Oke team pulled together to display good ball handling skills and determined tackling. The forwards, assisted by Imogen Ogbourne and Gareth Chrome, showed their strength setting up several mauls to push the home side within score trying distance. This allowed Brad Simmons to spin away with the ball and score Oke's third try.
Tavistock though did not give up and continued to attack being rewarded with two but Oke's finished off the game when Nathan Tomkins went over the line just before the end.
Okehampton U10s 25
South Molton U10s 0
A muddy pitch led to a slightly slower game with more passing errors than before. Maddie Arden came on for Okehampton, playing on the wing, with Lewis Reynolds at scrum half. Oke were close to South Molton's line when Alex Farmer spotted his opportunity by grabbing a loose ball and diving over the try line.
Kai Middleton was terrier like in his approach tacking low, snapping at the opposition's heels and darting between them to score Oke's second try.
These were followed with a well deserved try for Dai Chi and then Nathan and James.
Exeter Chiefs U8s 8 tries
Okehampton U8s 5 tries
THE Okehampton U8s travelled to Exeter to play the Chiefs last Sunday. They were keen to get their season underway again after several weeks of cancelled matches due to the bad weather.
The Oke's started well and were unlucky to lose their first match 8 tries to 5, but showed a lot of character to come back in their second match and win 7-6.
Indy Horn (2), Edward Luke (2) and Jay Jenkins all scored tries in the first game, in which there was plenty of free flowing rugby. In the second match Jacob Smith scored 3 tries and Edward Luke was on the ball scoring a further 4 tries. Edward's haul of 6 tries in total saw him deservedly win the man of the match award and be presented with the team's 'squirrel.'
Exeter Chiefs U7s 9 tries
Okehampton U7s 13 tries
ON a lovely sunny day Okehampton U7s travelled to the Exeter Chiefs ground at Sandy Park.
This was the first game in a number of weeks and it showed by the slow start to the game by Okehampton but after a couple of quick tries by Exeter the Okes soon got into there stride and produced some scintillating rugby and took the game to their opponents.
The Oke team led by Joe and Holly played some of there best rugby to date against a well drilled Exeter Chiefs side. There were a number of good tries but Oke's defensive play was of the top order. This was a superb team effort.
