THE spring concert by the Okehampton Choral Society will take place next month.

The evening celebrate the joyous music of Handel and will include music from Messiah, two Coronation anthems and one of the organ concertos, as well as the famous aria, Let the bright Seraphim.

The second part will be a performance of the much loved, reflective and poignant work, Faure Requiem.

As usual the choir will be joined by the visiting instrumentalists of the Ockment Chamber Orchestra, led by Paul Mathews and directed by John Holland, with guest soloists, Helouise West and Jason Bomford.

The concert will be held on Saturday, May 1 at 7.30pm at Fairplace Church.

Tickets cost £7 or £3.50 for students and can be purchased from The Beanfeast in the Arcade.
