Callington U16s 2
Tavistock Town U16s 1
IN previous years Tavistock have visited Callington and turned over to a high scoring defeat, followed by similar reverse at home, but Saturday was different.
The first half started with Callington over-running Tavistock and deserving their 1-0 advantage, but Tavistock then realised that they could play attractive and effective football and duly did so.
Callington were under pressure from the 20-minute mark but still managed to snatch further advantage from a poorly defended corner to make the score 2-0.
Tavistock took control of the second half with Ayres, Hoar and Wearing on fire. They created numerous chances from broken play, free kicks and corners. After a disallowed goal from man of the match Robins, Doidge was able to cross the ball to score at the far post to make the score 2-1.
From that point Tavistock were in charge and were unlucky on numerous occasions, not to level.

Callington Colts 1
CALLINGTON achieved something here which no team managed last season, to come away from Manor Drive with all three points in the bag.
Kingskerswell held a magnificent 100% home record last year but were beaten on the day by a second half strike by Callington's Ryan James.
An engaging battle between two footballing sides was a thrill to watch with the home side settling early and Callington taking a moment or two to master playing on a pitch much smaller than usual.
Both teams had chances but it was the single goal which in the end was enough for victory.
