A CHERITON Bishop cyclist will spend five days in the saddle tackling a 355-mile tandem cycle ride visiting each of the 40-plus South West offices owned by estate agents Bradleys.

Jonathan McKinnel, 41, is undertaking the tandem cycle ride to raise money for SeeAbility, a charity which Bradleys has adopted.

Jonathan, a keen cyclist for many years, has completed various cycle challenges for charity. Joining him on the tandem for his latest challenge will be Fiona Spotswood, a volunteer from SeeAbility (formerly known as the Royal School for the Blind).

Jonathan and Fiona will set out on the five-day ride on September 6 from Bridgwater, and will end at Bradleys? most southerly office in Penzance. Among the offices the riders will be visiting will be Okehampton and Callington.

Jonathan, a father of three, said: ?The training programme for the challenge is now stepping up a gear and I am sure that the saddle soreness will be worthwhile.?

Jonathan has been given five days to complete the task and will be accompanied by workmates from Bradleys along the way.

Also joining Jonathan and Fiona for the duration of the challenge will be Peter Bond, of Exmouth. Peter will be using his mobility cart as he is partially sighted and has other disabilities. He has been fundraising voluntarily for more than 33 years and has chosen to support SeeAbility to help other partially sighted or blind people in the West Country.

Sarah Jepson, Bradleys PR manager said: ?Last year SeeAbility and Bradleys had an events meeting to prepare for 2004. In that meeting we came up with the ?Bradleys-SeeAbility Bike Bonanza?. We had no idea who would come forward to represent Bradleys and were thrilled when Jonathan put his name forward.?

SeeAbility are keen to hear from any bicycle mechanics who might consider acting as a support network to enable the riders to complete their challenge .
