MORE than 600 people turned up in Simmons Park to take part in the finale of Okehampton Sportsweek last Sunday. The sunny weather also drew out a large number of spectators who watched and enjoyed the wide range of activities on offer during the day. The week of events and taster sessions organised by OCRA (Okehampton Community Recreation Association) is now in its eighth year and was another great success . Stuart Lord of OCRA said the five-a-side football tournament continued to be popular with a record number of entries of around 40 teams playing this year. Other activities which were put on as part of the day included a mountain bike display, in-line skating, swimming and water polo.
