FOLK on the Moor has just announced details of its annual Yuletide concert which this year is being held in Tavistock Town Hall on Saturday at 8pm.

On the bill are the John Wright Band (left) — a trio of truly remarkable versatility and international renown and the supremely gifted Cornish-based singer-songwriter Mike Silver.

The John Wright Band features John himself on lead vocals, Kenny Speirs on guitars and Stewart Hardy on fiddle. They are currently one of the hottest properties on the folk/roots scene.

Both their live performances and excellent catalogue of recorded material remind the listener that they are a band of great taste, performing sensitive interpretations of their own materials, plus the very best of other performers songs. John Wright's emotionally charged vocals are beautifully underscored by some of the best fiddle and guitar you are likely to hear.

Mike Silver's wide experience, drawn from over 30 years of travelling and playing his songs, is what makes him a singer and writer of today.

Often labelled 'the singer's singer', the combination of his natural songwriting ability and remarkable guitar and vocal styles is unique.
