MEMBERS of Tavistock Atheletic Club travelled to Newquay on Saturday for the Brooks Cornish County Cross Country Championships. It was the experienced Jo Kelsey who took on the ladies field and the tough undulating course to romp home to her third victory in as many weeks. Kelsey comfortably beat Donna Hillman from Carn Runners by two minutes. Kelsey holds the unusual honour of winning both the Cornish Championship and the Devon Championship this year – but her Cornish victory won't stand in the books, as she was only racing as a guest. In the men's race two other guests ran for Tavistock - HarryWiltshire and Pete Freedman, who both ran superbly to finish third and fourth respectively. Martin Exley finished 10th overall in the championship to take victory in the veteran 45 category and gain selection for Cornwall for the South West Championships at Bicton on January 7.
