Saltash Youth U11s 1
Tavistock Jets U11s 4
JACK Jessop scored his second hat-trick in two weeks in this great win over Saltash Youth.
Jets were soon in the lead with Adam Dodd?s first goal, from a corner by Martin Hughes. A goalmouth scramble meant the ball came straight out to Adam to fire home.
Soon the Jets were 2-0 up with Jessop?s first goal of three. The midfield of James McGahey, Martin Hughes, Adam Dodd and Adam Burbidge were winning everything in the centre and provided some great passes through to Nicholas Cribbett and Jack Jessop.
Jessop scored his second just before half-time to make it 3-0.
The second half started and Saltash suddenly came to life with a great goal from the kick-off which involved four passes.
Although Saltash now started to play better Jets defence of Ben Pridham, James Tosdevin, Harry Gray and Reuben Grice did not let them through very often. With about seven minutes to play Jessop got his third goal to seal all three points for the Jets.
The Jets defence helped stand-in goalkeeper Luke Dunne who also made some good saves in the second half. David Corrales and Sean Stevens came on as subs and managed to keep the Jets shape.
Man of the match: James McGahey. Manager?s man of the match: Jack Jessop.
Tavistock Jets U13s 1
Manstow Rovers U13s 2
BOTH sides contributed equally to this entertaining game which began with Jets passing and moving well.
Bray did well to clear while covering in defence as Manstow looked the more likely to score, and Webber had no chance to stop a fierce shot from the edge of the box. Jets were unlucky to go off at half-time behind 1-0.
The second half looked promising with Jets on the attack and their opponents giving away free kicks on the edge of the box. A good passing move started by Kelly led to the equaliser by Hammond who drove the ball into the net following a cross by Dobson.
The game continued to ebb and flow with Manstow eventually scoring. Without a great save by Webber they would have gone further in the lead.
Doyle came on as substitute and the game remained evenly balanced. Jets never gave up yet were unable to break down their well organised opponents? defence.
Man of the match, Mark Webber. Manager?s man of the match: Sam Johnson.
