A LYDFORD woman has recently had her art work selected for an exhibition in a London art gallery. Jessie Brennan, a former Tavistock College student, currently at Royal College of Art in London doing Printmaking, has been selected out of 1,250 entries for the forthcoming exhibition ?Originals 06 The Contemporary Printmaking Show?. The exhibition at Mall Galleries, London, takes place in February and provides people with an opportunity to view and buy work by some of the country?s best print makers. Jessie, 23, specialises in etching which is where a polished metal plate is covered by an acid-resistant layer and blackened with a fumigating candle. The artist then draws or scores the etch-resisting layer with an etching needle. At the moment Jessie teaches life drawing classes at Thames Valley University as a sessional teacher. She shows them how to look and draw, and also how to draw just by feeling. As well as that Jessie is a personal tutor for two girls aged 7 in London. She has two more years full-time at London University. When she has finished Jessie is hoping to continue teaching to support her drawing. All Jessie?s work is original and for sale, proceeds will go towards her post graduate studies. Her website is http://www.jessiebrennan.co.uk">www.jessiebrennan.co.uk
